Trading Habit Auto-Pilot

Trading Habit Auto-Pilot

A lot of success habits don’t spring from our automatic instincts. We have to train ourselves to behave in particular ways.

We need to use the more ‘modern’ part of our brains, in particular, our parental control area called the pre-frontal cortex, to help guide our decisions.

That’s the part of your brain that suggests you shouldn’t eat that extra piece of chocolate cake… or have a bit of fun with that handsome stranger in their car.

I love this quote:

“The right trading behaviors start as rules and evolve into habits.” – Brett Steenbarger

The good news is that through repetition, you can exert conscious willpower to create and alter your own habits. And that’s when the magic happens.

That’s when a behaviour becomes hardwired in the brain. Miraculously, your working memory is less taxed, and you don’t have to exert so much conscious control.

In this episode, Louise covers the latest cutting-edge science about habit formation, and how you can harness your brain’s tendency to want to put things on auto-pilot for your own purposes.

Keep cultivating these success habits and your equity curve will love you.
