One of the greatest contributors to success in life is the ability to set goals and achieve them. However, statistics show that only around 20% of the population set goals, about 1% write them down and then of those, only about 30% succeed.
When did you last check in with your life purpose, and make sure your goals are aligned with your values?
Research suggests that the traders who achieve the most consistent results, and persist when the going gets tough, are the ones that do this on a regular basis.
In this interview, Louise Bedford and Yvonne King, a mindset coach and aspiring author, talk about this very topic.
Yvonne shares her experience with being diagnosed with stage three ovarian cancer, which became a catalyst for her to become very clear about her values, purpose, and goals.
Yvonne emphasises that when setting goals, individuals need to be very specific and ask themselves questions like:
- What is my goal?
- How realistic is it?
- Do I have all the resources and skills I need to do this?
- What is the timeframe?
- Do I need additional help or need to learn new skills?
- Will this support my life’s purpose?
- What could prevent me from achieving my goal?
